Denmark Arrival and Copenhagen Canal Tour

We arrived safely in Denmark just before 11am this morning (local time) and took a bus downtown for lunch, shopping, and a canal tour.

I enjoyed sampling an Elderberry soda and tried a Denmark speciality...smorrebrod (open faced sandwich). 

As you can see from this picture, some of us have already done souvenir shopping to show their Viking spirit.

We had a wonderful canal tour, to help us get acclimated to the beautiful buildings around Copenhagen. It felt good to bask in the sun, too. (Although it did make us a bit sleepy, after our long flight.)

Low bridge...everybody down....

We have checked in to the Tivoli Hotel, which is fabulous...it is decorated in a carnival theme, to match the Tivoli Gardens amusement park that is close by.

We have some time now to relax in our rooms before dinner.
